The Will Of God

There are at least 294 passages in the Bible that refer to the will of God. The will of God is infinitely important. I hope and pray that you have learned to love and desire His will and that it is becoming increasingly important to you. The will of God is what Christians should want. Except for getting to Heaven, unbelievers have very little interest in the will of God here and now. Knowing and doing the will of God are the most important things we can know or do. Obeying the will of God is what faith does. His will is always far above and better than ours. One of the things He changes in us is to give us a desire for His will rather than our own.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
